Minimum obligation for the seller. The buyer's forwarder arranges pick-up, export permit, freight, and import. In practice the seller often helps load and clear export anyway, which is why FCA is usually the better term for international sales.

Watch out
Under EXW the seller is not obliged to load the truck or do export clearance. Many shippers assume otherwise.
