ISF
Customs & complianceImporter Security Filing
A US Customs filing the importer must submit at least 24 hours before cargo is loaded for the USA, also called 10+2.
In practice
The importer (or its agent) files ten data elements, and the carrier files two more. Late or missing ISF brings a USD 5,000 penalty per shipment and can hold the container. Distinct from AMS, which the carrier files.
Seen in the wild
ISF must be filed by the US importer's broker 24 hours before loading in Singapore.
