In practice
The consolidator receives loose cargo at the origin CFS, stuffs it with other shipments, and the destination CFS unstuffs it for collection. CFS charges cover this handling and are billed per CBM or per W/M, separately from ocean freight.

Destination CFS charges are almost always collect and are not included in an origin LCL quote unless stated.
