A service where the forwarder handles the shipment from the shipper's premises to the consignee's premises.
In practice
Includes pick-up, export clearance, main carriage, import clearance (often for buyer's account), and delivery. The customer gets one quote and one contact. Routing terms on the B/L may still be CY/CY; door to door describes the forwarder's service, not the carrier's.
